Job summary

iSpot.tv, Inc. is seeking a Director of AI to lead the team building AI-powered capabilities across CAO products. You will prototype, review architectures, write code, and drive adoption of AI features at scale.

You will partner with Product Management, Data Science, and Platform teams to sequence work, deliver measurable results, and maintain safety and governance in production AI systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in software engineering with 3+ years leading teams.
• Experience shipping AI/ML capabilities to production.
• Hands-on with modern AI tech: LLMs, embedding, evaluation methods.
• Strong fundamentals: distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines.
• Genuinely hands-on in code, notebooks, and production traces.
• Experience partnering with PM, DS, and platform teams.
• Clear communicator to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Track record delivering in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI engineering roadmap across CAO products.
• Build, ship, and operate customer-facing AI capabilities.
• Own architecture for AI services: model selection, orchestration, guardrails, cost, latency.
• Prototype by coding, experiments, and validating concepts.
• Hire, lead, and develop AI/ML engineers.
• Collaborate with Product Management to create roadmaps with success criteria.
• Collaborate with Data Science to productionize models and measurement.
• Establish evaluation frameworks for AI quality and regression visibility.
• Instrument and manage AI economics: inference cost, throughput, capacity.
• Evaluate new models/tools; advise build-vs-buy decisions.
• Embed responsible AI, governance, privacy, and security.
• Report progress, risks, and results to leadership.
