Job summary

JPMorganChase seeks an Applied AI/ML Director to shape the Agent Builder Platform, designing an Agent SDK and enterprise-ready capabilities. You will own critical components end-to-end and drive engineering standards across data, platform, and application teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions.

This hands-on role requires deep expertise in GenAI, agentic systems, and cloud/Kubernetes, with a track record of delivering production-grade ML platforms that enable teams to build impactful

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in applied AI/ML concepts with 10+ years of applied experience.
• 10+ years building large-scale ML systems and platform services used by multiple teams.
• Strong software engineering skills with end-to-end ownership from design to operation.
• Extensive experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Hands-on design of agentic and GenAI systems including tool use and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement core Agent SDK capabilities with production-ready code.
• Build specialized agents and reusable components to improve reliability and evaluation quality.
• Translate agentic and GenAI techniques into scalable platform features for easy adoption.
• Design evaluation approaches for agent behavior, balancing quality, robustness, latency, and cost.
• Develop model-serving/workflow patterns for agentic systems, including orchestration and tool use.
• Partner with product and engineering to align platform capabilities with success metrics.
• Drive technical decisions by clarifying ambiguity and producing clear designs.
• Improve platform performance through profiling and system-level optimization.
