Job summary

Mariner Independent seeks a Director, Advisor Coaching & Strategy in the United States to act as a strategic advisor, coach, and thought leader. You will partner with advisors and leadership to enable growth and client engagement through the platform and solutions.

You will design scalable coaching programs, enhance consultative selling, and practice management, while enabling growth across the organization with KPI-driven learning resources and effective training delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial services, wealth management, advisor consulting, coaching, or practice management role to independent channels
• CFP® or equivalent industry designation preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a small team, establishing clear priorities and high-quality advisor development programs.
• Act as trusted advisor and strategic coach to Independent advisors to grow their businesses through effective practice management and guidance.
• Collaborate with Mariner Independent leadership to identify advisor development needs and deploy coaching/training solutions.
• Design and oversee scalable coaching programs, onboarding frameworks, career growth paths, and development initiatives.
• Provide individual and group coaching to improve discovery conversations, meeting effectiveness, and client engagement.
• Facilitate interactive training through workshops, role plays, and simulations.
• Mentor emerging advisors and support long‑term career trajectories.
• Create training guides, playbooks, and learning resources to drive adoption and impact.

The Director, Advisor Coaching & Strategy serves as a strategic advisor, coach, and thought leader dedicated to supporting the growth, development, and long-term success of advisors within the Mariner Independent business line. In this pivotal role, you will partner closely with both advisors and the leadership team to enable business growth and scalability through the full utilization of Mariner Independent’s comprehensive platform, resources, and solutions, thereby enhancing the advisor and client experience.

This leader will develop and deliver scalable coaching, training, and professional development programs designed to advance advisors’ consultative selling skills, communication proficiency, business development acumen, and relationship management abilities. The role blends strategic consulting, personalized and group coaching, practice management, and platform enablement to maximize advisor efficiency, growth, and client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a small team, establishing clear priorities, fostering accountability, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality advisor development programs and strategic initiatives.
• Act as a trusted advisor and strategic coach to Independent advisors, enhancing their ability to grow and strengthen their businesses through effective practice management and consultative guidance.
• Collaborate closely with Mariner Independent leadership to identify advisor development needs and deploy focused coaching and training solutions throughout the organization.
• Design, build, and oversee scalable advisor coaching and development programs, including onboarding frameworks, career growth paths, and professional development initiatives focused on communication, relationship management, business development, and client engagement.
• Provide individual and group coaching to advisors focused on improving discovery conversations, meeting effectiveness, presentation skills, executive presence, confidence, and overall performance.
• Facilitate interactive training through workshops, role plays, peer coaching, simulations, and case-study-based methodologies.
• Cultivate internal advisor talent by identifying development needs, mentoring emerging advisors, and supporting long‑term career trajectories.
• Create effective training guides, playbooks, conversation frameworks, and learning resources to drive consistency, behavioral adoption, and measurable advisor success.
• Support advisors in leveraging Mariner Independent’s technology, resources, and wealth management solutions to enhance efficiency, client service, and business growth.
• Assist advisors in clearly articulating their value propositions and communicating complex financial concepts in an engaging, client‑friendly manner.
• Build, validate, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), feedback loops, and performance benchmarks to measure advisor progression, business growth, program effectiveness, engagement, and organizational impact.
• Develop and deliver compelling presentations to C‑suite executives, translating performance data, strategic insights, and program outcomes into clear recommendations and actionable business decisions.
