Job summary

District Alliance for Safe Housing (DASH) seeks a Director of Advancement to lead fundraising and communications. The role partners with the executive team to grow annual donor giving, including major gifts, grants, and institutional support.

You will manage donor relations, events, and a portfolio that fuels DASH’s mission in a hybrid DC environment. You will oversee external consultants, coordinate campaigns, and help develop strategies to expand DASH’s visibility and fundraising impact.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of related experience, or a graduate degree with two years of experience.
• Proven success in fundraising, including major gifts, grants, and sponsorships.
• Strong experience building relationships with individual donors and increasing contributions.
• Knowledge of multi-channel campaigns and marketing principles.
• Demonstrated team management and strategic planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supports management of DASH’s individual giving portfolio and contributes to institutional fundraising.
• Partners with the Executive Team to align fundraising initiatives with priorities and sustainability goals.
• Maintains fundraising calendar, including appeals, stewardship, reporting, and deadlines.
• Oversees outsourced fundraising partners to ensure high-quality, on-schedule deliverables.
• Identifies and cultivates major gift prospects and funding partners.
• Supports donor-focused events and donor stewardship through communications and recognition programs.
• Analyzes donor data to identify growth opportunities and provides leadership with recommendations.
• Prepares fundraising materials, grant proposals, and campaigns with senior leaders and consultants.
