Job summary

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) and New York Health (NYH) are seeking a Director of Advanced Practice Providers to lead our APP teams and partner with clinical and operational leaders. The role focuses on staffing optimization, team development, and high-quality specialty care across NYCBS and NYH locations.

The ideal candidate is an experienced PA or APRN with leadership background, NY licensure, and a willingness to travel to multiple sites to support program growth and patient

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program and current New York State licensure.
• Minimum five years of clinical APP experience; oncology experience preferred.
• Management experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the APP role in specialty practice.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with clinical and non-clinical teams.
• Ability to travel to NYCBS and NYH locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop APP staff: oversee performance and professional development.
• Optimize staffing and coverage: align APP staffing with provider needs and team skills.
• Coordinate scheduling: manage APP time-off requests and coverage.
• Support recruitment and retention: attract and retain APP talent and promote teamwork.
• Guide onboarding and training: create training plans with cross-functional teams and monitor progress.
• Promote continuing education: identify opportunities to strengthen APP knowledge.
• Communicate practice standards: implement policies and participate in APP meetings.
• Advance quality of care: conduct clinical reviews and address quality concerns.
• Use data to support improvement: collect and report staffing and utilization data.
