Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking a Director, Actuarial and Analytics in Hartford. This leadership role oversees actuarial methods, pricing, forecasting, and analytics initiatives across lines of business.

You’ll guide a small team, drive efficiency, and partner with BI Finance and senior leaders. Ideal candidates will have STEM education, actuarial credentials, 7+ years of quantitative analysis, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM field required.
• Associate Actuarial Credential required/advantageous.
• 7+ years of quantitative analysis experience required.
• Strong understanding of insurance products and industry.
• Demonstrated ability in actuarial and quantitative analysis and statistical concepts.
• Management experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to present and translate complex information in business terms.
• Strong PC skills (MS Office) and programming skills (SQL, SAS).

Responsibilities

• Assess, prioritize and communicate strategic initiative options to senior leaders.
• Perform actuarial and analytic analyses to solve business problems.
• Translate business requests into analytical solutions.
• Lead and review analytics work within the team.
• Collaborate with partners across Business Unit and Actuarial Product teams.
• Drive project execution and process improvements.
• Provide guidance on talent development and mentorship.
