Job summary

Nationwide seeks a Technical Director in Accounting Policy & Research to lead accounting policy development and ensure regulatory compliance. You will advise leadership, collaborate with external auditors, and guide complex GAAP/STAT analyses to support financial reporting.

Responsibilities include researching new GAAP/STAT changes, coordinating with various finance functions, and presenting updates to senior management while maintaining a strong control environment.

Qualifications

• GAAP and/or STAT accounting principles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for contact with all levels of associates and external parties.
• Ability to analyze and tackle accounting problems, interpret financial documents and data, and review ledger entries.

Responsibilities

• Directs technical accounting research used for preparation, analysis and filing of financial statements.
• Implements new GAAP and STAT accounting changes.
• Collaborates with AP& R group and external auditors to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Advises on accounting policies and practices and responds to inquiries from regulators and auditors.
• Manages special projects and represents officers as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

Postgraduate studies desirable

GAAP/STAT accounting principles
