About The Opportunity
You will be a critical business partner to various VPs across the organization, providing insightful financial guidance and strategic support. These roles are essential in building a strong control environment and ensuring our accounting processes are scalable, efficient, and ready for the rigors of a public company. This Director oversees the "white-glove" side of the business, where revenue is driven by long‑term contracts, hardware sales, and institutional partnerships.
The Impact You'll Make
  • Technical Accounting & ASC 606: Lead accounting for complex revenue streams and related costs. Document accounting policies for new product launches and opine on contract negotiations.
  • Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Drive the close process for business units, overseeing accruals and reviewing complex reconciliations for high-volume transaction data.
  • People Leadership: Manage, mentor, and scale a team of professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
  • Process & Controls: Strengthen SOX‑compliant internal controls and partner with Engineering to raise accounting requirements for new products.
  • Partnership: Partner with Product teams, FP&A and Business teams to understand results and be part of proactive discussions around new initiatives, providing accounting’s requirements
  • B2B & Institutional (Campus & Corporate): Focus: Contract Management, B2B Accounts, & Managed Services.
  • Institutional Revenue (Campus): Manage complex accounting for University partnerships, including meal‑plan integrations and royalty structures.
  • Corporate Accounts & Credit: Oversee Credit & Collections for B2B clients, managing credit limits and DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
  • Contract Review: Partner with Legal/Sales during the RFP process to ensure contract terms are "accountable."\
  • Hardware & Inventory: Account for physical assets (kiosks, lockers, tablets) including procurement, deployment, and impairment.
  • SaaS & Licensing: Manage accounting for technology stack licensing fees charged to institutional partners.
What You Bring To The Table
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and a CPA are required.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with 4+ years in leadership.
  • Deep understanding of ASC 606, SOX, and enterprise ERPs (e.g., NetSuite).
  • In‑depth knowledge and proven experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and experience with control frameworks (e.g., SOX).
  • Experience at a public company or a company that has recently undergone an IPO is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • A strong, collaborative spirit, a passion for leveraging technology, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get into the details to solve problems. This role requires grit and resilience to navigate the complexities of a dynamic, pre‑IPO environment.
  • Experience with Netsuite, Floqast is a strong asset
  • High comfort level dealing with large data sets; ability to read and decipher SQL queries is strongly preferred.
