Job summary

University of California, San Francisco seeks a Lead, Academic Development and Innovation to provide strategic leadership for a growing portfolio of education programs within the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics.

The role oversees the Implementation Sciences Certificate Program, plans new short courses, micro-credentials, and flexible offerings to advance departmental and institutional priorities, with emphasis on visibility, enrollment, and financial sustainability.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in a related area or equivalent experience.
• Academic background in selected area of research.
• Minimum 5 years independently administering or leading a complex academic, professional education, research, or comparable program.
• Minimum 3 years experience with program budgeting, financial analysis, revenue/enrollment forecasting, pricing analysis, or financial monitoring.
• Advanced knowledge of administrative, budgetary, human resources and financial principles.
• Demonstrated advanced oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and operational direction for academic and continuing education programs.
• Manage and expand the Department’s Implementation Sciences Certificate Program and develop new short courses and micro-credentials.
• Oversee budgeting, enrollment forecasting, pricing, marketing and operations to improve educational impact.
• Coordinate faculty, learner recruitment and support, and program evaluation.
• Represent the program to outside organizations and manage all administrative operations.
