Job summary

Providence Health & Services in Portland, OR is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the 24/7 Integrated Resource Center across the Division, ensuring reliable staffing, service quality, and budget adherence.

You will oversee staffing and agency services, partner with leaders to align needs, analyze data to drive improvements, and manage reporting, meetings, and 24/7 operational responses in a highly matrixed healthcare environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field required.
Master's degree (preferred).
PhD or DNP (preferred).
Experience in healthcare staffing, scheduling, timekeeping, or analytics (required).
Clinical training and RN license (preferred).
Project Management Professional certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

Lead and maintain accountability for reliable, high-quality 24/7 Integrated Resource Center operations across the Division.
Oversee staffing and agency services to support safe, efficient workforce allocation and dependable coverage.
Partner with divisional and ministry leaders to understand operational needs, align staffing plans, resolve service issues, and support efficient care delivery.
Use staffing, operational, financial, service, and outcome data to identify trends, guide decisions, optimize resources, and improve performance.
Develop and manage reporting for improvement portfolios, milestone plans, financial outcomes, project timelines, risks, and performance measures.
Organize and facilitate recurring meetings with leadership, team leads, and executives to gather information, communicate progress, resolve barriers, and develop countermeasures.
Set and manage clear expectations with team members and stakeholders, and monitor progress against service commitments, work plans, and deadlines.
Direct timely operational response during capacity constraints, inclement weather, emergencies, and other disruptions, including resource redirection, escalation, and maintenance of coverage.
Ensure operations comply with applicable policies, regulatory requirements, labor agreements, workforce practices, and financial controls.
Identify and implement sustainable improvements, technology-enabled solutions, and best practices that strengthen quality, efficiency, reliability, customer service, and workforce outcomes.
Travel, present, or provide training as needed to support divisional initiatives and operational priorities.
