Job summary

AchieveBio seeks a Director of Applied Solutions – Functional Genomics to lead customer-facing technical delivery for our CRO offering. Based in CA with client-location flexibility, you will translate client goals into automated genomic experiments and drive high-quality data generation.

You will onboard new customers, collaborate across teams, and travel up to 50% to support clients. A PhD or MS with substantial experience and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Wet lab experience in functional genomics (mRNA, sequencing, cell line engineering, CRISPR).
• Experience moving screens from manual workflows to lab automation platforms.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role (FAS, Customer Success, Applied Solutions or similar).
• Ability to translate a customer’s scientific goals into an experimental plan.
• Commercial mindset and focus on customer success.

Responsibilities

Seeking PhD Scientist with customer facing experience to support functional genomics services offering.

Our client is developing a novel CRO offering, providing real-time customer interface and AI-native experimental data. This customer facing technical lead position will be pivotal in onboarding new customers. Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical overview to clients, working closely with the Business Development team to solidify new opportunities
• Translate the customer’s scientific objectives into automated programs and methods that deliver high quality data
• Onboard new customers, ensuring their success with the platform
• Collaborate with internal science and software teams to improve data generation capabilities

Qualifications

• PhD with 4 years professional experience, or MS with 7+ years experience
• Hands-on wet lab experience in functional genomics: mRNA, sequencing, cell line engineering, library design, single cell, CRISPR, etc.
• Direct experience moving screens from manual workflows onto lab automation platforms.
• Experience in a customer facing technical role (FAS, Customer Success, Applied Solutions or similar)
• Ability to translate a customer’s scientific goal into a concrete experimental plan
• A commercial mindset – you understand how technical delivery turns into account growth, and you are motivated by making customers successful
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Self-motivated and results-oriented
• Able to travel up to 50%
