Job summary

Quanta Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) Operator in Hamtramck, Michigan. In this role, you will operate specialized equipment to safely install underground utilities using directional drilling technology. You will join a dynamic team committed to innovative infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• DOT Medical Card.
• Previous HDD drilling or locating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate HDD drills and install underground utilities.
• Read engineered drawings and locate existing utilities.
• Guide drill head using electronic locating equipment.
• Complete bore logs, drilling records, and other documentation.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment.

Skills

Understanding of underground utility construction practices

Ability to operate HDD drills and related equipment

Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Tools

HDD drilling systems (Vermeer or Ditch Witch a plus)

Electronic locating equipment
