Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED certificate.
• General knowledge of construction practices.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and safety rules for heavy equipment operation.
• Competent with underground utility locations.
• CDL Class A license within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate directional drills.
• Read plans, instructions, and specs to determine work activities.
• Monitor electronic guidance during drilling phases.
• Add or remove drill rods.
• Perform minor maintenance and cleaning on equipment.
• Follow prescribed safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Operate vehicles and equipment as directed and certified.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report malfunctions.
• Comply with Conterra safety standards.
• Be responsible for all personal actions and equipment in your care.
• Report accidents immediately and assist investigations.
• Restore area to project requirements.
• Perform other duties related to Directional Drill Operator as required.
