Job summary

ITG Communications, LLC is seeking a Drill Operator to run horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment for installing conduit, fiber, or utility infrastructure on construction sites. You will read construction plans, locate utilities, and keep accurate bore logs while working outdoors in varying weather.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of HDD experience or equivalent training and a valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
1-3 years directional drilling experience or equivalent training.
Familiarity with Ditch Witch or Vermeer HDD equipment a plus.
Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate drilling rigs and support equipment to install underground utilities according to project specifications.
Read and interpret construction prints, locate utilities, and mark underground services accurately.
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and basic equipment maintenance.
Ensure proper placement of conduit using bore logs and tracking systems.
Collaborate with field crews to set up equipment, mix drilling fluid, and pull back conduit or pipe.
Maintain accurate records of bore lengths, depths, and site conditions.
Adhere to all company and regulatory safety procedures and requirements.
Assist with potholing, locating, trenching, or other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Work in various terrain and weather conditions while maintaining productivity and quality.
