Job summary

National OnDemand, Inc. is seeking a field-based operator to install UG plant facilities using directional drills and related equipment across multiple sites in the United States.

The role requires operating drills, setting up equipment, and coordinating with the crew leader to ensure safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate has prior directional drilling experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and flexibility to work nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating directional drills is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Combination of technical training and/or relevant experience.
• Previous experience in a construction environment is preferred.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends, if necessary.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass drug, background, DOT, and MVR screenings.

Responsibilities

• Operate directional drills, mini-excavators, and other equipment to install UG plant facilities.
• Set up job equipment and reel trailers proficiently.
• Perform utility exposes (potholing) and understand the utility locate process.
• Locate other utilities as needed and maintain clearances from other utilities, ground, road, highway, sidewalk, and non-pedestrian areas.
• Transport, handle, and place conduits (rolled and stick) in a proper manner.
• Properly transport and install fiber reels.
• Install fiber cables in conduits following proper procedures.
• Set and secure pedestals and vaults accurately.
• Read and interpret network prints.
• Adhere to OSHA safety requirements to ensure safe and efficient completion of the job(s).
• Maintain regular phone communication throughout the workday.
• Follow directions provided by the crew leader.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
