We are currently offering a $1,000 sign-on bonus for all new, full-time employees ($500 after 3 months, $500 after 6 months).

Overview

Tjader & Highstrom Utility Services, LLC is looking for an experienced Directional Boring Operator for our projects in Wisconsin. Laborer duties will include general labor duties related to telecommunications construction as directed by the Foreman/Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• All phases of underground construction including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various types, sizes, and weights of construction materials and equipment.
• Hand dig using shovel, mechanical tools.
• Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling.
• Climb into and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.).
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
• Work in congested or remote areas.
• Maintain visual and audible contact with crew members and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects for safe coordination.
• Perform general construction work under the direction of Foreman/Supervisor.
• Flagging, property or worksite restoration.
• Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies.

Qualifications

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate utility trucks and equipment safely.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and equipment.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License required.
• Effective communication skills.
• Regular and timely attendance.
• Ability to work at least 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, with possible overtime.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, crouch, sit, bend, handle objects, reach, climb, balance, crawl, lift, and stoop.
• Work while wearing safety gear.
• Work in adverse weather conditions.
• Exposure to dust, fumes, or airborne pathogens.
• Lift/carry 50 lbs regularly.
