Job summary

Labcorp in Burlington, NC is seeking a Technologist - Direct Testing to support high-quality clinical testing operations. You will determine specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex procedures, and troubleshoot instruments to ensure accurate results.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a Chemical or Biological science, or MLS, with 1+ year of lab experience; ASCP/AMT certification preferred. Schedule is Thursday-Sunday 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, joining a team focused on patient care and clear

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
1+ year of clinical laboratory testing experience OR MLS degree.
ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Demonstrate ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
