Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring a START MH-IDD Technician for the 1st shift in New Bern, NC. The role involves direct support to individuals with mental health and developmental disabilities in community or residential settings.

Requires a high school diploma or GED plus relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Human services. A valid driver’s license and CPR/First Aid certification are required, with on-going training as per policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of experience with individuals with mental health and intellectual disabilities who have serious behavioral challenges and crisis management experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Human services.
• If the degree is not in Human services, must have experience with the population served.
• Valid driver’s license with personal vehicle insurance coverage for liability.
• Must maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must complete and maintain required trainings and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct support for up to four individuals with disabilities in community or residential settings.
• Assists individuals in identifying and communicating their requests and needs for services.
• Implements services to address goals identified through the START Team.
• Understands individuals in the context of their history, networks, and future aspirations.
• Maintains a therapeutic environment at all times.
• Relies on direction and supervision to accomplish tasks.
• Delivers integrated care with collaboration among team members.
• Supports individuals with behavioral challenges and crisis management protocols.
