Job description

Direct Support Staff provide individualized care and support to individuals with disabilities in QC’s group home settings, assisting with daily living activities, health management, and social engagement.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in achieving personal goals and overcoming daily barriers.
• Ensure client safety and maintain a secure environment.
• Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks.
• Encourage and participate in physical activity and exercise.
• Help clients maintain cleanliness and organization of their home.
• Assist with medication preparation and administration following doctor’s orders.
• Provide personal hygiene support, including bathing and bathroom assistance.
• Assist with mobility and transportation to work, school, medical appointments, errands, and recreational activities.
• Accompany clients to social events such as meetings with friends/family, dining out, movies, shopping, and other outings.
• Record documentation of client status and support provided.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
