Job summary

DuMolin Community Living in Santa Rosa is hiring Direct Support Staff to provide compassionate care for adults with developmental disabilities in a group home setting. This overnight awake shift runs 10pm–8am, three days a week, totaling 30 hours weekly.

You will support residents with daily activities, accompany them to appointments and activities, and help promote independence. If you are dependable, caring, and team-oriented, apply to join our supportive, mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• 1 year of caregiving/direct support/related field preferred
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist with physical care
• Ability to read/write in English
• Strong communication, patience and time-management
• Reliable transportation and punctuality
• Must pass a criminal background check

Responsibilities

• Support residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting
• Administer prescribed medications and track health conditions under nurse supervision
• Prepare meals per dietary plans from the dietitian
• Provide safe transportation to day programs, work programs, family visits and community events
• Facilitate recreational, therapeutic and social activities to enrich residents' lives
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe living environment
• Accurately document services, incidents, medications, and daily care logs
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers and clinical teams

About the Role:

As a Direct Support Staff, you will provide essential care, companionship, and support to residents with developmental disabilities in a group home setting. You’ll accompany residents throughout their day—from daily routines and medical appointments to recreational and community-based activities—ensuring their health, safety, and dignity. This role is more than just caregiving; it's about building meaningful relationships, promoting independence, and creating a positive impact in someone’s life every single day.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements

Qualifications:

Commit to working Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10pm until 8 am consistently.

• At least 1 year of experience in caregiving, direct support, behavioral health, or related field preferred


• Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and assist with physical care


• Ability to read and write in English


• Strong communication, patience, and time-management skills


• Must be able to pass a criminal background check


• Reliable transportation and punctuality are a must
