Job summary

Penn-Mar Human Services in York, PA is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with daily living, personal care, and community activities. Responsibilities include light housework, assisting with meals, transportation to appointments, and supporting behavior and social interactions in a respectful, person-centered way.

Requires High School Diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license with clean driving record; ability to pass screenings and lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. required.
• Valid Driver’s License with 2+ years of driving experience and minimal violations.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Light housework: cooking, meal prep, cleaning
• Maintenance of personal care/hygiene routines: feeding, medication administration, bathing, showering, toileting
• Providing transportation to and from doctor’s appointments, outside activities and excursions
• Behavioral and social support (to include working with potential physical and verbal outbursts/ aggressiveness)
