Job summary

Community Options, Inc. in West Caldwell, New Jersey is hiring full-time/part-time/PRN Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide person-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

No experience required– paid training provided. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour. Responsibilities include daily living support, health monitoring, transportation to appointments, and documentation. We support growth and a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to establish a supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crises.
• Employment contingent on background checks and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with daily routines including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
• Monitor health and medical needs and report concerns.
• Assist with learning and development of independent and community-based skills.
• Participate in community, social, and recreational activities with individuals.
• Drive individuals to medical appointments and community activities.
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely.
• Build a support network by engaging community members, businesses, and families.
• Additional tasks may be assigned.
• Cooperate with license/department staff during inspections or inquiries.
