Job summary

Community Options, Inc. in Lincoln Park, NJ is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP), Caregivers and Home Health Aides to provide person-centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. No experience is required—paid training is provided.

Starting pay is $18.00 per hour. You will assist with daily routines, health monitoring, transportation to appointments, and community activities; you’ll document care and maintain records accurately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to establish supportive relationships with individuals receiving supports.
• Ability to stay calm and exercise good judgment in crisis situations.
• Background checks including criminal, central registry, child abuse registry and drug testing required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with daily routines including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
• Monitor health and medical needs and report concerns.
• Assist with development of independent and community-based skills.
• Participate in community, social, and recreational activities.
• Drive individuals to medical appointments and activities.
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely.
• Build a support network by connecting with community members, businesses, and families.
• Additional tasks may be assigned.
• Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections.
