Job summary

West Bay RI is hiring a Direct Support Specialist (DSP) to assist individuals with IDD in their homes and communities. The role involves direct support with daily activities, health maintenance, and community participation, following individualized care plans.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and 2–3 years of relevant experience. The position is full-time (35 hours/week) with schedule options and the potential for occasional third-shift coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• 2-3 years of experience as a Direct Support Professional or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Support individuals in decision making and goal achievement.
• Promote independence, self-advocacy, and community participation.
• Follow individualized care plans and medication administration as required.
• Monitor and report individuals' progress and needs.
• Maintain a safe and respectful environment and collaborate with team.
