The Arc of East Ascension in Gonzales, LA is hiring a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges. You will provide daily care, help with hygiene, meals, and medication administration, and support their participation in community activities.

Applicants should have prior experience with developmental disabilities; knowledge of autism is a plus. First aid and CPR certifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders is a plus.
• First aid and CPR certification desirable.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges.
• Assist individuals with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
• Implement behavior management strategies and support individuals in developing appropriate social skills.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals by following established protocols and procedures.
• Document and report any incidents or changes in behavior to the appropriate supervisor.
• Promote and uphold resident rights and advocate for individuals' needs and preferences.
