Job summary

Chimes is hiring a Direct Support Professional for Thursday through Saturday, 7 AM–7 PM, in Newark, DE. This full-time, on-site role supports individuals with intellectual and behavioral challenges and follows individualized care plans to ensure safety, engagement, and growth.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, medication administration per policy, documentation, and promoting community participation.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certifications preferred.
• CPR/First Aid and Mandt (or similar crisis intervention) certifications required.
• Experience: Prior experience with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required.
• Physical: Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and supervision to individuals to ensure safety, engagement, and well-being.
• Assist with personal care tasks including hygiene, dressing, mobility, and meals.
• Follow individualized care plans and support each person’s goals.
• Administer medications per agency policies and regulations.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and document daily activities and incidents.
• Foster community integration through activities and social interactions.
• Communicate with supervisors and external providers and attend required trainings.
