Job summary

In Good Company Care and Supports is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our team across New Jersey. We provide home- and community-based support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with both full-time and part-time schedules available.

You will assist with daily living activities, accompany clients to appointments and outings, follow care plans, document services, and maintain a safe, person-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred, but not required — training is provided.
• Patient, compassionate, and dependable.
• Strong communication skills and good judgment.
• Comfortable with personal care tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
• Ability to pass required background checks and complete DDD-mandated training (CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, etc. — provided by the company).
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in community activities, appointments, and outings.
• Follow individualized care plans and behavior support plans as directed.
• Administer medication as trained and authorized (where applicable).
• Document services provided accurately and in accordance with NJ DDD requirements.
• Communicate regularly with families, care team members, and agency staff regarding the individual's needs and progress.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment at all times.
