Job summary

PA Connecting Communities in Pittsburgh's South Hills area is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide compassionate, hands-on care for individuals with intellectual disabilities in residential settings.

You will promote independence, assist with daily living, accompany participants on community activities, and help with meals, transportation, and documentation. A valid driver's license and ability to lift are required, with flexible FT/PT shifts and a strong commitment to inclusion.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of ID/Residential program experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Able to lift and transfer individuals.
• Smartphone and computer literacy.
• Able to pass background checks (Criminal, Child Abuse, FBI).
• Able to pass pre-employment physical and TB test.
• Must be able to commute to the South Hills area.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living skills, personal care, and hygiene.
• Support participants in community outings, recreational activities, and social programs.
• Promote independence and skill development in home and community settings.
• Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders as directed.
• Provide transportation to appointments, programs, and community activities.
• Completing required documentation and daily reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Support behavioral plans and maintain a safe, positive environment.
• Assist with lifting, transferring, and mobility needs as required.
• Maintaining professional communication with supervisors and team members.
