Job summary

Sheppard Pratt in Frederick, MD, is seeking a full-time, on-site Direct Care role to support clients in day program activities and help implement individual care plans. You will assist with transportation and attending medical appointments, promoting client participation and wellbeing.

The role requires discretion and independent judgment under supervision, with training and opportunities for growth. Pay is $18.50/hour, with a comprehensive benefits package and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license with minimal points and access to insured vehicle.
• Must obtain and maintain current DOT certification.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and navigate stairs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating client participation in therapeutic and social group activities by understanding what motivates them individually.
• Implementing individual client care plans to meet client needs and goals, coordinating communication among staff and clients.
• Providing transportation and attending clients’ medical appointments.
