Job summary

Spurwink Services in Portland, Maine, is hiring Direct Support Recovery Workers for a per diem role at our facility. You will provide direct services to support a recovery lifestyle and administer client medications as part of a therapeutic milieu.

You will attend weekly program staff meetings and engage in team collaboration. Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma and valid driver’s license, with at least 1 year of mental health/substance use experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and valid driver's license required.
• At least 1 year of mental health/substance use experience required.
• Must become MHRT1 within 1 year of employment and maintain trainings.
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides residents with necessary support for daily living tasks.
• Assists with admissions and discharges.
• Assists clients in connecting with community resources.
• Develops and implements structured activities, recreation and/or therapeutic activities or groups for residents.
• Communicates and coordinates with family members/guardians as necessary.

Spurwink is hiring hard-working candidates like you to become Direct Support Recovery Workers at their facility in Portland. This position provides direct services to support a recovery lifestyle of people living in the program. All positions within this classification administer client medications and provide services that support a therapeutic co-occurring milieu. These positions attend weekly program staff meetings and frequently participate in other team meetings as necessary. This is Per Diem position.

DUTIES:

• Provides residents with necessary support for accomplishing tasks of daily livings.
• Assists with all client admissions and discharges.
• Assists clients in connecting with any appropriate community resources.
• Develops and implements structured activities, recreation and/or therapeutic activities or groups for residents, i.e., trips, discussions, games, and activities of daily living as assigned.
• Communicates and coordinates with family members/guardians as necessary.
• Contributes to quality assurance through maintenance of client records.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent and valid driver's license required. At least 1 year of mental health/substance use experience required. Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment; then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status. Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
