Job summary

Ocean State Behavioral is seeking a Direct Support Professional (PASS) to assist a young person at home and in the community. This part-time role offers evening hours and 10-20 hours per week, located in Pawtucket, RI.

You will visit a client’s home three to five days per weekday evening for 3–4 hour shifts, with some weekend coverage. You will help learn daily living, safety and social skills, while coaching family members and documenting observations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
• Ability to write detailed and accurate shift notes.
• Calm, patient and dependable demeanor.

Schedule: ( Mondays , Wednesdays , and Fridays from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. & Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Visiting a client’s home three to five days a weekday evenings for a 3-4 hour shift.
• o Some cases may require a 3-4 hour shift on Saturday or Sunday morning/afternoon
• Helping a young person to learn necessary daily living, safety, and social skills (e.g. crossing the street, cleaning up after themselves, sharing with others, etc…)
• Coaching family members and caretakers to reinforce clinical strategies consistently
• Documenting behavioral data, shift notes, and client observations

Who We’re Looking For:

• A high school graduate age 19 or older,
• With a valid driver’s license, and legal personal vehicle,
• Capable of taking short but detailed and clinically accurate shift notes,
• With a calm, consistent, and patient personality

Candidate must provide a clean background check and permit the agency to run a DCYF clearance check with the state.
