Ocean State Behavioral is hiring a Direct Support Professional to support a young person in home and community settings in Johnston, RI. The role involves evening visits, coaching daily living and safety skills, and documenting observations.

Schedule: ( Mondays , Wednesdays , and Thursdays from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.)

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Visiting a client’s home three to five days a weekday evenings for a 3-4 hour shift.
• Some cases may require a 3-4 hour shift on Saturday or Sunday morning/afternoon
• Helping a young person to learn necessary daily living, safety, and social skills (e.g. crossing the street, cleaning up after themselves, sharing with others, etc…)
• Coaching family members and caretakers to reinforce clinical strategies consistently
• Documenting behavioral data, shift notes, and client observations

Who We’re Looking For:

• A high school graduate age 19 or older,
• With a valid driver’s license, and legal personal vehicle,
• Capable of taking short but detailed and clinically accurate shift notes,
• With a calm, consistent, and patient personality

Candidate must provide a clean background check and permit the agency to run a DCYF clearance check with the state.
