Job summary

Mercy Hospital in Nassau County, part of Catholic Health, seeks a residential care worker to join a collaborative team providing assessment, care, and support to adults in a residential setting. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to deliver life skills training and meaningful recreation.

Responsibilities include planning meals, assisting with housekeeping and daily living activities, documenting progress in records, and supporting residents with behavior changes and medication

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with a special need or mentally disabled adults preferred.
• Ability to write legibly required.
• Maintain valid NYS driver’s license within agency criteria.

Responsibilities

• Works with a collaborative interdisciplinary team to provide assessment, care, and support.
• Assists in development and delivery of life skills training and recreation planning.
• Provides support in planning, purchasing, and preparing meals; assists with housekeeping and laundry.
• Completes documentation and records; ensures accuracy of Medicaid billing logs.
• Assists with monitoring resident behavior and reporting changes to the team.
• Supports access to identified psychiatric, medical and dental needs as directed.
• Provides coverage for emergencies, holidays, and weekend shifts as needed.
