DABS, Inc. is hiring Direct Support Professionals in California to work in home and community settings across two tracks: Personal Attendant and Skills Instructor.

You will provide person-centered supervision and assist with daily activities while promoting independence and dignity for adults with developmental disabilities. Roles include ensuring safety, documenting progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to maintain professional relationships with families and stakeholders.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and implement established care plans.
• Ability to maintain high standards of professional ethics, including punctual attendance.
• Ability to provide care with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and respect for personal values.
• Ability to communicate clearly and document observations accurately.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsabilités

• Provide supervised support in home and community settings.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and meal prep.
• Supervise medication administration when needed.
• Transport to medical appointments.
• Observe and report health or environmental changes to supervisor.
• Complete daily logs and progress notes per DDS standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings.
• Teach independent living skills (cooking, budgeting, organization).
• Assist scheduling and daily routines.
• Support community participation and prosocial behavior.
• De-escalation to ensure safety during activities.
