Job summary

DABS, Inc. in California is seeking a DSP/Personal Attendant to support adults with developmental disabilities in home and community settings. You will supervise activities of daily living and provide occasional hands-on assistance to help individuals stay healthy and safe.

The role offers full-time and part-time options, weekly pay, and benefits. Candidates should have 0–3 years of related experience and demonstrate empathy, reliability, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and implement established care plans.
• Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and respect for personal values.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, person-centered supervision within the individual’s home and community.
• Supervise and provide occasional hands-on support for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, toileting, dressing, personal hygiene.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding; light housekeeping and laundry.
• Supervise medication administration when needed.
• Accompany and transport the individual to medical and personal appointments.
• Observe and report changes in health, behavior, or environments to the supervisor.
• Complete daily logs and progress notes in compliance with DDS, Regional Center, and agency standards.
