Job summary

New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID) is a large not-for-profit serving infants, children and adults with developmental disabilities across New Jersey. NJID hires direct support professionals to assist residents with daily living activities in a residential setting.

Location: Edison, NJ. Hours: Sat & Sun 9:30a-4:30p, with other shifts available. NJID offers full-time, part-time and per diem roles across Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Somerset Counties.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• A valid driver's license in good standing, and must be insurable through NJID's automobile insurance.
• Strong communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist and supervise activities related to daily living skills.
• Administer or assist with prescribed medication.
• Light housekeeping
• Assist with transportation
• Assist in the implementation of individual goals and objectives.
• Data entry using Therap (EHR)
• Assist residents in pursuing recreational, social, and community activities based on their preferences and individual plans.
