Job summary

New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID) is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist residents with daily living activities in a residential setting.

Responsibilities include supervising daily living tasks, administering medications, light housekeeping, transportation, and helping residents pursue individual goals; no certification required. NJID offers full-time, part-time, and per diem roles with benefits across multiple counties. On-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license in good standing, and must be insurable through NJID's automobile insurance.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist and supervise daily living skills.
• Administer or assist with prescribed medication.
• Light housekeeping
• Assist with transportation
• Assist in the implementation of individual goals and objectives.
• Data entry using Therap (EHR)
• Assist residents in pursuing recreational, social, and community activities based on their preferences and individual plans.
