Job summary

Delta-T Group Virginia, Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide compassionate care in a residential setting in the Richmond, VA area.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, meals, transportation, and coordinating with families and care teams. Requirements include a HS diploma, six months to a year of DSP experience, CPR/First Aid, a valid VA driver’s license, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of Direct Support Professional or similar experience.
• HS Diploma required.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Must have a valid VA driver’s license.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• TB test or TB screening required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities within a residential setting.
• Communicate with individuals’ families, IDT, day program, and other providers of services.
• Instruct, support, and participate in household tasks including cleaning, meal preparation, and shopping.
• Prepare food according to menus, preferences, and prescribed diets.
• Assist in developing daily living skills and address social, environmental, and health care needs.
• Transport individuals and/or provide mobility training for appointments, programs, and errands.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and program meetings as instructed.
• Ensure compliance with VOAC program requirements and applicable regulations.

Our client has an immediate need for motivated professionals to work as Direct Support Professionals in the Richmond, VA area.

Summary of Client's Description of This Opportunity

• * Provide support and care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities within a residential setting.
• * Communicate with Individual's families, members of their IDT, day program, and other providers of services.
• * Instruct, support, and participate in household tasks including cleaning, preparing meals, food shopping, etc.
• * Prepare food according to developed menus, menu protocols, Individual's likes, dislikes, and prescribed diet.
• * Assist in developing daily living skills by identifying and meeting social, environmental and health care needs.
• * Transport Individuals and/or provide mobility training to assist Individuals attend appointments, community rehabilitation programs, grocery shopping, etc.
• * Attend client's staff meetings, training in-services, house and program meetings as instructed
• * Ensure compliance with VOAC program requirements, environment-specific rules, as well as regulations from all monitoring entities.

Client's Required Experience and Education

• * Successful candidates will have a passion for assisting others with their daily activities, accompanying them to doctor appointments, performing light housekeeping duties, running errands, and providing companionship.
• * Minimum of six months to one year of Direct Support Professional or similar experience
• * HS Diploma
• * CPR/First Aid Required
• * Must have valid VA driver's license
• * Must have clean driving record
• * TB required

Client's Hours

• * Various Weekdays and Every Other Weekend from 8:00am-4:00pm
• * Various Weekdays and Every Other Weekend from 7:00am-3:00pm and 12:00pm-8:00pm
• * Various Weekdays and Every Other Weekend from 10:00pm-8:00am
