Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of Direct Support Professional or similar experience.
• Must be 21 years old and possess a High School Diploma.
• Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• TB and COVID vaccine proof required.
• Willingness to provide direct care and supportive services.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and care to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities within a residential setting.
• Communicate with individuals' families, IDT, day program, and other providers of services.
• Instruct, support, and participate in household tasks including light housekeeping, meal preparation, changings, and administering medication.
• Prepare food according to menus, protocols, and individual preferences.
• Assist in developing daily living skills by identifying and meeting health care needs.
• Transport individuals and/or provide mobility training for appointments and activities.
• Attend staff meetings, training in-services, and program meetings as instructed.
• Ensure compliance with VOAC program requirements and regulations.

Our Client is seeking a motivated professional to work as a Direct Support Professional in the Washington, DC area.

CLIENT'S AVAILABLE HOURS

• Monday-Friday from 7:00am-3:00pm
• Monday-Friday from 3:00pm-11:00pm
• Monday-Friday from 11:00pm-7:00am
• Saturday-Sunday from 3:00pm-11:00pm or 11:00pm-7:00am

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY

• Provide support and care to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities within a residential setting.
• Communicate with Individual's families, members of their IDT, day program, and other providers of services.
• Instruct, support, and participate in household tasks including light housekeeping, preparing meals, changings, administering medication, etc.
• Prepare food according to developed menus, menu protocols, Individual's likes, dislikes, and prescribed diet.
• Assist in developing daily living skills by identifying and meeting social, environmental and health care needs.
• Transport Individuals and/or provide mobility training to assist Individuals attend appointments, community rehabilitation programs, grocery shopping, etc.
• Attend client's staff meetings, training in-services, house and program meetings as instructed
• Ensure compliance with VOAC program requirements, environment-specific rules, as well as regulations from all monitoring entities.
