Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to assist individuals with daily living activities in a home setting. DSPs will build meaningful relationships, provide guidance, and support community involvement through person-centered care.

No prior experience is required — comprehensive training is provided. A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a DHS background check are important to help people stay active and engaged in their community.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Driver's license and safe driving record.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check.
• Comfort with basic computer use.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene needs, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills
• Advocate for people with identified needs’ rights, needs, and preferences
• Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings
