Job summary

West Bay RI is seeking Direct Support Professionals for specialized supports in Coventry and Johnston, RI. Pay ranges from $24.00 to $25.00 per hour with a weekend differential of $1.00 per hour.

Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities are available to join a mission-driven team providing restorative care to individuals with I/DD. You will implement behavioral health care plans, promote independence, and support emotional well-being in community-based settings.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 1-2 years of rehabilitative or behavioral support for individuals with I/DD and mental health needs.
• Safety Care Certification preferred (current or previous).
• Licensure: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Physical: Lift 25-50 lbs and perform bending, squatting, pushing/pulling, kneeling as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver restorative and rehabilitative services based on individual behavioral health care plans.
• Provide motivational, consistent, and respectful support to foster high-quality relationships.
• Use crisis intervention skills and offer intensive support during challenging moments.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to enhance daily routines and life skills, including nutrition guidance, employment/volunteer opportunities, social and relationship development, personal care and hygiene, medication administration.
• Maintain a safe, healthy environment that promotes growth and autonomy.

As a Restorative Support Professional, you will play a critical role in implementing behavioral health care plans and supporting individuals in achieving greater independence, emotional well-being, and community integration.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience: 1-2 years of experience providing rehabilitative or behavioral support to individuals with I/DD and mental health needs.
  • Safety Care Certification preferred (current or previous).
• Licensure: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 25-50 lbs. (with assistance or lifting devices), and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, pushing/pulling, or kneeling without restriction.
