Job summary

ND Health and Human Services is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist residents at the Life Skills and Transition Center in Grafton, ND, helping them complete daily living activities and become more independent through person-centered support.

You will help individuals identify goals, practice new skills, and log progress. A high school diploma or GED is required, with onsite training provided and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No experience required; onsite training provided.
• Must complete approved training program during probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities to promote independence.
• Identify learning goals and practice new life skills.
• Support personal hygiene, work or job tasks, recreation, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Model effective communication, socialization, self-advocacy, and self-help strategies.
• Observe, document, and report on individuals' condition and progress to the team.
