Job summary

The NEEDS Center in Hyannis is seeking Direct Support Professionals to work with adults who have autism and other developmental disabilities. You will support daily living activities, engage in therapeutic, educational, and recreational programs, and help individuals build skills to live more independently.

This full-time position offers training with no experience required, a sign-on bonus of $3,250, and a pay rate of $21–$22 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred (but not necessary)
• Experience with behavior management preferred (but not necessary)
• Empathy for people with developmental disabilities
• You must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Ability to work as part of a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting and supporting adults with autism in their daily routines.
• Supporting individuals in developing daily living skills, which may include grooming, arts & crafts, dressing, cleaning, and toileting.
• Help with clinical, educational and vocational programs.
• Observe and record data for programs established in their Individual and Behavior support plans.
• Participate with other team members to create a therapeutic environment that includes planning and helping with recreational, educational, and social activities to engage individuals and enhance their quality of life
