Job summary

SOAR365 in Virginia is seeking a dedicated individual to join our respite team. You will report to the Respite Supervisor and help provide a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment that fosters growth and independence for people with disabilities.

This part-time role requires strong communication, the ability to document daily activities, and a compassionate approach. CPR/First Aid and TOVA certifications are required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred; one year of relevant

Qualifications

  • Obtains and maintains CPR/First Aid and TOVA certifications throughout employment.
  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
  • Minimum one year of experience working with persons with disabilities preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Problem-solving aptitude.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills and the ability to type daily documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Creates engaging and thoughtful program activities related to participants' goals and interests.
  • Delivers purposeful age-appropriate activities and supports for participants.
  • Assists participants with daily living activities.
  • Completes daily documentation in electronic records system.
  • Communicates ongoing care results and updates to relevant parties.
  • Participates in service training.
  • Communicates appropriately with participants, staff, and community affiliations.
  • Maintains documentation in compliance with licensing agencies.
  • May involve lifting.
  • Assists with physical interventions.
