New Horizons in Autism, Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals to work in residential homes across New Jersey. You will support adults with autism to build independence, life skills, and community participation in a compassionate, structured setting.

The role offers extensive paid training, full-time opportunities, and a pathway for growth within NHIA. Starting wage is $19.00 per hour with benefits and PTO.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher degree required.
• Be at least 20 years old.
• Have a valid New Jersey driver's license.
• Complete pre-employment screenings: Central Registry, CARI, DMV, drug screening, physical, PPD.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, supervision and daily support to individuals with autism in a residential setting.
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
• Support medication management as needed.
• Teach and reinforce independent living skills.
• Provide transportation and assist with community activities.
• Create structure, consistency and meaningful daily routines.
• Encourage independence and personal growth.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Assist with daily operations of the residential home.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with the individuals served.

About the Role!

As a Direct Support Professional, you will play an essential role in supporting individuals with autism in a residential home setting. This is a rewarding, hands-on position where you will help residents build independence, develop life skills, participate in their communities, and enjoy the highest possible quality of life.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Providing direct care, supervision, and daily support to individuals with autism

Assisting with personal care and daily living activities

Supporting medication management

Teaching and reinforcing independent living and life skills

Providing transportation and assistance with community activities

No prior autism experience? That's okay! We provide extensive, hands-on training to help you develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in this rewarding career.

Flexible, in-person interviews are available Monday through Friday at our administrative office in Morganville, NJ.

Qualifications!

To be considered for this position, you must:

Have a High School Diploma, GED, or higher degree
Diploma or transcripts must be provided.

Be at least 20 years of age

Have a valid, non-probationary New Jersey driver's license

Successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, including:

Central Registry

CARI

DMV

Drug screening

Physical examination

PPD testing

Demonstrate the ability to interact appropriately and effectively with individuals with autism

Possess strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Conduct yourself professionally and respectfully at all times
