Job summary

Community Options is seeking an entry-level, part-time caregiver in Bismarck, ND to support individuals with daily living tasks and promote independence. You’ll help with cooking, cleaning, shopping, transportation, and other activities in a teamwork-driven environment.

The role offers a sign-on bonus of $500 (20 hours a week), a flexible schedule, and benefits including health coverage and paid time off. Prior caregiving experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Access to a mobile phone (iPhone/Android).
  • CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain during training.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Travel as needed to meet operational and client needs.
  • Pass an extensive background check including MVR, drug screening, and DHS pre-employment approval.
  • Complete required training/certification within the specified time frame.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and transportation.

The hourly wage for this position is $17.34 - $20.40 an hour, depending on experience (DOE).

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
  • At least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Access to working mobile phone (iPhone/ Android)
  • CPR and First Aid certified, or have the ability to obtain certification successfully during the new hire training period.
  • A valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance for the vehicle subject to the statute of the licensing state and the ability to travel based on operational and clientele needs.
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check, including Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), drug screening, and ND Department of Human Service (DHS) pre-employment approval.
  • Successfully complete required training and/or certification within sa pecified time frame; time requirements will vary based on assigned training or certification programs.
Must possess certain basic skills, including the ability to:
  • Accurately observe and recall surroundings and events.
  • Communicate information clearly, concisely, and accurately.
  • Read, write, understand, and apply written instructions in English.
  • Complete basic computer-related tasks.

Employees may be subject to working with customers who exhibit behaviors that would require the employee to use possible physical de-escalation techniques.

Work Environment: Employees work in indoor and/or outdoor environments, i.e., office, home, or community setting. Employees are required to operate a motor vehicle and travel as deemed necessary. Assigned work shifts and locations will vary depending on the customers’ and/ or agency's needs.
