Job summary

Jill’s House is seeking a Direct Support Professional to care for individuals with intellectual disabilities at our fully accessible respite center in Vienna, Virginia, just outside Washington, DC. Training is provided, and prior experience is not required.

We especially need compassionate team members available on Wednesday and Friday mornings. The role supports clients with daily activities and requires lifting up to 50 pounds and strong teamwork in a supportive Christian setting.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience preferred.
• Weekend shift availability is required.
• Satisfactory oral and written communication skills are required.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and maintain stamina.

Responsibilities

• Guide and supervise individuals assigned to you.
• Provide basic care, assist with activities of daily living, and offer activity guidance in a safe, nurturing environment.
• Follow each client’s service plan to ensure a positive experience for all participants.

The Direct Support Professional is responsible for:

• The guidance and supervision of individuals to whom they are assigned.
• Performing a combination of basic care, assistance with activities of daily living, and activity guidance in a safe, nurturing environment.
• Following each client’s service plan and ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Available Shifts:

• Tuesdays & Thursdays: 2 PM - 9 PM

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Be at least 18 years old,high school graduate or GED.
• At least six months successful experience is preferred.
• W eekend shift availability is required.
• S atisfactory oral and written communication skills are required.
• Must possess strong collaboration and teamwork skills, patience, and a desire to learn new things and grow.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and maintain stamina for long periods of time.
• Must a ffirm the McLean Bible Church Vision and Values as well as abide by the Standards of Christian Conduct.
