The Arc of Ocean County is seeking a dependable Direct Support Professional to join our Residential Services team and help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live fulfilling, independent lives.

This hands-on role involves supporting daily routines, personal choice, and community involvement across Ocean County. We offer training, ongoing support, and opportunities to grow within a values-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with no more than five points.
• Ability to complete background checks and onboarding requirements.
• Strong communication skills and professionalism, flexibility, and sound judgment.
• Demonstrated employment stability, with at least 1 year with a previous employer.

This is a hands‑on role where you'll be part of someone's everyday life—helping with routines, encouraging personal choice, supporting community involvement, and celebrating progress along the way. Whether you're beginning your career in human services or looking for work with purpose, you'll receive the training and support needed to succeed.

Position at a Glance

Employment Type: Full‑Time and Part‑Time Opportunities Available

Schedule: Evening Shift | 3:00 PM-11:00 PM

Weekend Availability: Required

Pay: $20.70-$24.70 per hour

Pay Schedule: Bi‑Weekly

Keep Communication & Documentation on Track

• Complete electronic documentation, daily service notes, medication records, and required reports accurately and on time
• Share important updates and concerns with supervisors, coworkers, families, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Work collaboratively with the residential team to maintain consistent, high‑quality services

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing with no more than five (5) motor vehicle points
• Ability to successfully complete all required background checks, screenings, and agency onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while demonstrating professionalism, flexibility, and sound judgment
• Demonstrate employment stability, including at least one (1) year of longevity with a previous employer
