Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking dependable, compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our Residential Services team and help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live fulfilling, independent lives in welcoming homes across Ocean County. This hands-on role involves assisting with daily routines, supporting personal choice, and helping residents participate in community activities.

Training and ongoing support are provided to help you succeed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily activities.
• Assist with personal care, meals, housekeeping, and medication administration.
• Encourage participation in routines, hobbies, and community events.

This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be part of someone’s everyday life—helping with routines, encouraging personal choice, supporting community involvement, and celebrating progress along the way. Position at a Glance

Employment Type: Full-Time and Part‑Time Opportunities Available
Schedule: Evening Shift | 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
Weekend Availability: Required
Pay: $20.70–$24.70 per hour
Pay Schedule: Bi-Weekly

Keep Communication & Documentation on Track

• Complete electronic documentation, daily service notes, medication records, and required reports accurately and on time.
• Share important updates and concerns with supervisors, coworkers, families, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Work collaboratively with the residential team to maintain consistent, high‑quality services.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with no more than five (5) motor vehicle points.
• Ability to successfully complete all required background checks, screenings, and agency onboarding requirements.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while demonstrating professionalism, flexibility, and sound judgment.
• Demonstrate employment stability, including at least one (1) year of longevity with a previous employer.
