Job summary

Easterseals in Joliet, IL, is seeking part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for the 2nd and 3rd shifts to support residents in Easterseals residential homes. Must be able to work every-other weekend.

This role involves providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities, with no prior experience required beyond compassion and a desire to help others. The organization emphasizes strong health and safety protocols and offers competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to meet Illinois' driving requirements with dependable means of transportation.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Empathetic and supportive with staff, clients, and families.

Responsibilities

• Develop a rapport with consumers and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship.
• Provide supervision and guidance for consumers during skill-building activities; assist with goals and objectives.
• Document the implementation of the goals, objectives, and service objectives.
• Assist with daily living activities, including preparing meals and assisting with personal hygiene.
• Transport consumers to various activities and appointments.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment within the home and its grounds by assisting consumers in cleaning and other household chores as necessary.

Education

We have immediate openings part-time 2nd and 3rd shiftDirect Support Professional (DSP) positions!! In the Joliet area. Must be able to work every-other weekend.

This is an opportunity to provide direct care services to individuals with disabilities who reside in Easterseals residential homes. No prior experience is necessary. However, you must have compassion and the desire to help individuals with developmental disabilities.
